As tradition has it, the programme gives ample space to storytelling and shows for all ages, capable of sparking wonder in the most eyes wide open. Stories and books remain at the heart of the event, with two papercraft workshops — travel notebooks and an automaton brought to life — and readings from the Library.
The 2026 edition adds nature workshops: MUSE, MAG with an excursion to Monte Brione, Make the Jungle on plant propagation, and Plastiqo on sustainability.
The opening show by Vertik & Dance, featuring the Nymph of Lake Garda amid acrobatics and circus arts, welcomes the protagonist. Amid jungle scents, music and drums, the streets of the town centre fill with market stalls, the GiocaParco at the Rocca, a carousel and candyfloss.
The heart of the festival is the traveling show that, since 1999, has brought the year's fairy tale to life with the Lupus in Fabula troupe. Public squares come alive thanks to local associations offering games, workshops, and artistic and cultural activities.
The illustration competition gave rise to the picture book "Sir Tarzan, gorilla gentiluomo" by Brian Freschi and Andra Calligaro. The event closes with the Ruggge parade, heralding the 2027 fairy tale!
